Statement of Faith

The Gospel is our core message and motivation.

Kapatid Ministry was founded in a Baptist context and works with churches from a range of denominations that share the biblical Gospel. These beliefs shape how we understand God, people, the church, mercy, and mission.

In nine words

Faith in Christ. Faithful in Christ. Fruitful through Christ.

We believe what Jesus says about God, about us, and about what we need. Because salvation is found in Christ, we proclaim Him. Because He is Lord, we seek to serve faithfully. Because fruit belongs to God, we depend on His grace rather than our own power.

The articles below are a carefully edited public presentation of the full statement recovered from Kapatid’s former website. Scripture references have been retained so readers can examine its biblical basis.

01

The Holy Scriptures

We believe the Holy Bible is God’s infallible and inerrant Word, inspired in its totality through holy men of God. It is the final written revelation of God’s will and the supreme standard by which conduct, creeds, and opinions are tested (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21).

02

The Godhead

We believe there is one living and true God, Creator and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth. In the unity of the Godhead are three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—equal in divine perfection and working in harmony in redemption (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 5:7).

03

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, the one Mediator between God and humanity. Born of a virgin, He lived in perfect righteousness, died on the cross for our sins, and rose on the third day so that all who believe in Him may have eternal life (John 1:1–14; John 3:16; Romans 3:24; 1 Timothy 2:5).

04

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine person, equal with the Father and the Son. He convicts the world of sin, bears witness to the Gospel, brings about new birth, guides believers into truth, assures salvation, sanctifies, helps, and gives gifts for the building up of the church (John 3:3–8; John 16:8–15; Ephesians 4:7–16).

05

Humanity and the Fall

We believe humanity was created in the image of God but fell through voluntary rebellion. All people are sinners by nature and choice, alienated from God and affected in their relationships with one another and creation, while still bearing a marred image of God (Genesis 3; Romans 1:18–32; Romans 3:10–23; Romans 5:12).

06

The Virgin Birth

We believe Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Mary was God’s chosen servant, while Jesus is both the Son of God and God the Son (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:26–47).

07

Salvation

We believe salvation is God’s gift, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and never earned by human merit. Christ is the sinner’s substitute; His resurrection is the promise of life to those who trust Him. Those born into God’s family are kept by His power (John 1:12; John 10:28; Romans 1:16; Ephesians 2:8–9).

08

The Church

We believe the church is the body of Christ, composed of all who are redeemed by Him. We affirm the autonomy and shepherding responsibility of the local church, the spiritual gifts of its members, the Great Commission, baptism by immersion, and the Lord’s Table (Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 2:41; Ephesians 1:22–23; Hebrews 13:17; 1 Corinthians 11:23–29).

09

Missions

We believe Christ gave His churches the clear command to take the Gospel to the world. Every believer participates as one who is sent or one who sends, making disciples across cultures and among all nations (Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 1:8).

10

Christ’s Return

We believe Jesus Christ will return visibly and in glory. Kapatid’s historic statement affirms the premillennial return of Christ, the gathering of His redeemed people, His judgment of the nations, and His reign (Matthew 24:3–31; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; Revelation 20:1–7).

11

Civil Government

We believe civil government is appointed for the order and good of society. Rulers should be prayed for, honored, and obeyed except where obedience would clearly oppose the will of God (Matthew 22:21; Acts 4:19; Romans 13:1–7; 1 Timothy 2:1–3).
